A subcommittee within the House Oversight Committee is set to conduct a hearing focused on Bidenomics. The Subcommittee for Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs will host a hearing titled “Bidenomics: A Perfect Storm of Spending, Debt, and Inflation.”
Testimony during the hearing will be provided by experts, including Carrie Sheffield, a senior policy analyst for the Independent Women’s Forum; Casey Mulligan, a University of Chicago professor; E.J. Antoni, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation and senior fellow at the Committee to Unleash Prosperity; and Bobby Kogan, the senior director of federal budget policy at the Center for American Progress.
The witnesses will discuss the impact of inflation and government spending on communities and households, particularly in light of the 1.6% rise in inflation for the year ending in August.
Republicans have been critical of President Joe Biden’s economic approach, which he has branded as Bidenomics, and have made it a central issue in his potential reelection campaign. The hearing is scheduled to commence at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
